Homers 5 1 3 2 0 1 1 13 Maulers 0 0 1 4 0 0 4 9Hitting home runs for the good guys were Don with a big 3-run shot in the first that pretty much took the Maulers out of the game, Jesus with a big solo in the second, Richard with a 2-run home run in the fourth to inflict the mercy rule on the Maulers, and Scott with a little-leaguer in the seventh that took a strange bounce over Rich Benesh's head. Making the final out of the 1993 season for the Homers was ...... Amy, who did make some nice plays in the outfield, as did Ron, who took a double or more away from Kevin with a low backhand catch. Laurie earned team-player-of-the-day award by taking one of Evora's rockets off her right hand. Hockey-player-of-the-day award goes to Scott Morgan, who fielded Holly's ground ball back to the pitcher, threw to first right into the base of the back of her head, which also drew Tim into the baseline, causing him and Holly to collide, leaving her flat on her back. Honorable mention goes to Monica for nailing the runner from first when trying to complete a double play.
As for the playyers to be named later, perhaps we will be able to steal Robb & Mary and Kevin & Holly for next year. However, that would probably necessitate choosing a new team name to go with the new image. All suggestions are welcome; I've already thought of: Intimidators, E6, Fang P, Phone Home, There It Is!, Butter Cheesepuffs Fester, TQA Lip Server, We Meant to Do That, S-Band Is Better Anyway, Who Appointed Him Project Manager? These, of course, are only suggestions.
