July 13, 1994: Wild Turkeys @ Homers

From: KELVIN::MORGAN "Scott Morgan" 14-JUL-1994 15:48:07.60

In a very friendly match, the HOMERS plucked and stuffed the Wild Turkeys by a score of 14-12. The line score was:

    Wild Turkeys  0  1  0  4  0  3  4   12
    HOMERS        2  0  1  2  6  3  x   14
In an overwhelming show of support, 13 HOMERS attended the game. Starting for the HOMERS were: Jeff (c), Richard (p/ss), Ron (of/p), Charlene (of), Mike S. (1b), Tim (ss), Beth (3b), Mike (of/3b), Laurie (2b), and Jesus (of). Providing backup support were: Amy (of), Doug (of), and Angela (2b).

Offensive honors go to Richard who went 4 for 4 with 3 homers. Honorable mention goes to Tim (3 for 3 with 1 homer) and Ron (3 for 4 with 1 homer). As has become commonplace, every HOMER got at least one hit.

Defensive honors go to Jeff who bravely blocked the plate in the face of a charging female Wild Turkey. Once the feathers settled, it was clear that this time the fowl had beaten the tag. After the play, Jeff was heard to say that he would have made the tag if the charging turkey hadn't struck him with a drumstick.

After the game, Jeff, Amy, Ron, Jesus, Richard, and Scott attended the victory banquet at Fuddruckers. Unfortunately, there weren't any turkey dishes on the menu.

The next HOMER game is Thursday, July 21 against the Deep Space Cadets at Allendale Park which is near the northen end of the 110 freeway in Pasadena. Please let Richard or Jeff know if you will be unable to attend or if you need directions to the park.

Future editions of the HOMERS report will be written by your official HOMER scribes. It's been fun and exciting (sometimes too exciting) watching you guys but I want to PLAY!
