April 19, 1994: IR Sox @ Homers

Spring training ended on Tuesday with a practice game against the InfraRed Sox. We looked good through 3.5 innings, at which point we were leading 11 to 9 but then gave up a ton of runs. The scoreboard couldn't handle the third digit, so the final score was lost, and the game declared null and void.

In hitting a ball deep to right, Amy came close to being the first female Homer to hit a home run, but she did a face plant rounding first and crawled out a triple. Richard and Jesus did hit home runs, Jesus's being the first of many monstrous shots to come this year. Game ball, though, goes to Laurie, who hit a very solid single to left center in her first at-bat and threw out the batter on a ground ball to second.
