They enterred the field of battle looking to avenge the wounding of
their compatriots. Both teams approached the match with a singleness
of purpose not often seen since the golden age of Knights and Maidens.
The HOMERS were seeking satisfaction from the enemy that had dropped
so many of their number in past matches. HOMER blood was near boiling
at the thought of vengence. The site of their fallen comrades on the
side of the field pushing the HOMERS on to greatness.
But they lost....
The box score:
The game was tight throughout, with good hitting on both sides keeping
the game close. Offensive honors got Richard with 2 dingers and Ron
with 1. Rich gets kudos 4 doubles. Robb gets noted for bouncing in to
score and Tony gets commended for attempting to field a hot grounder
at first (see "freshly wounded" above).
The next game is Thursday (6/12) against the Cyclones again (a 23-16
HOMER victory in the first game). The game is on H3, the field in the
corner. Attendance has been slipping a bit, so show up and get to play
often.
