The HOMERS continue to be as hot as the weather. This week the HOMERS started out fast, and had just enough to hang on and beat the Gravity Fielders.

The usual HOMERS welcome also goes out to Ingrid (a neighbor of Ron and Sue) who played in her first HOMERS game.
The offensive star of the game was easily Rich Benesh whose fifth inning grand slam home run was a big factor in the HOMERS victory, as well as the only HOMERS home run.
Defensively it was not one of the HOMERS best games. In fact, I am hard pressed to remember any single outstanding HOMERS defensive play. I'm sure there must have been one, I just can't seem to recall it. (It's a bummer getting older and losing that short term memory! Now what was I talking about?)
Once again, do to an underwhelming lack of alternative suggestions, the post game dinner was held at Crown City Brewery. The usual CCB suspects were in attendance: Robb, Sue, Ron, Scott, and Jeff. The main topic of dinner was Jeff's strong denial that he had purposely manipulated the remaining HOMERS schedule to cause Ron and Sue to miss the most games.
Next week the HOMERS are schedule for 2 (yes that is 2) games. The first game is on Wednesday against the LA Radars on field H3. The second game is on Thursday against the Deep Space Cadets on field H2. Sue and Ron will miss both games (now's your chance to catch them on the M. Homer rankings!) and Sheila will probably miss the Wednesday game. Richard should be back. Let me know if you won't be there.
