Annette, Robb, Karen, Scott, Jeff, and Richard hit the upstairs dining area of Domenico's for dinner.
The game ball would have gone to Robb for his stunning managerial debut but for Linda, who in her Homer debut got quickly into the spirit of the team with a little league, solo home run in her first at-bat and a big three-run dinger in the 4th that torched Randy Bartos in center and put the Homers back up by 7. Randy, though, exacted some measure of revenge by recording 10 of the 19 Cadet putouts. Tony had the only other Homer home run, a leadoff shot in the fifth.
This was a decent defensive game for the Homers, though no single play was worthy of the play of the day. Tim made a nice running, knee-high catch in the outfield to end the second and later combined with Linda on a line drive double play. From right field Richard threw out a left-handed batter by three steps at first base, and Annette again played some solid defense at both 2B and OF.
Next week the Homers have games on Monday and Tuesday, making that 4 games in a row. Woo hoo! The first of those is on field H3 against the Cassini Grounders, our last tune-up before our payback game on Tuesday against Planet X.
