17 August 1998: HOMERS 22, Crawdads 13

From: Scott C Morgan <scott.c.morgan@jpl.nasa.gov>

Monday was a night that saw many truths revealed to the American public. Bill Clinton admitted that the dress was indeed his, ex-White House intern Monica Lewinsky admitted having an inappropriate and "wrong" relationship with Ken Starr, Richard proved that he could throw 2 consecutive balls to first base without hitting pavement, and Daniel demonstrated a heretofore well-concealed softball prowess in his HOMER debut.

Speaking of his playing ability, Daniel stated: "I know that my public comments and my silence about this matter gave a false impression. I misled people, including even my wife," Limonadi said, his voice breaking slightly. "I deeply regret that." For all involved, the truth is not only out there but has been exposed.

The HOMERS awakened from their recent hitting slump, defeating the Crawdads 22-13. The players:

The line score:

                 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Crawdads 4 0 4 0 0 5 0 - 13
HOMERS 3 14 0 1 3 1 x - 22

Outstanding defensive gems were recorded by Karen who tagged out 2 runners on the bases and snared a hard line drive; Ron & Sue who teamed up for a outfield-to-infield double play; and Jim & Jeff for an infield double play.

Offensively, every HOMER got at least one hit and every HOMER scored at least one run. HOMERS were notched by Ron (2), Richard, Dave, Tony, Joe, Jim, and Scott.

Thanks to Jim for showing to help the HOMERS player count stay at 10 even after a mid-game desertion.

Attending dinner at Crown City were: Ron, Sue, Joe, Jeff, Karen, and Scott.

Next week's game is WEDNESDAY (8/26) on field H2 against the Ecclectic Eccentrics. Please contact Richard or Jeff if you will not be attending.

Who the heck is Tim???
