HOMERS - 2000 SEASON

The 2000 season was another stellar year for the Homers, finishing with a 15-3 record. The Homers' offense shattered just about every team record, including most home runs (104) and most runs scored (405). The Homers averaged 22.5 runs per game and averaged nearly 6 home runs per game. The Homers had 11 games of 20+ runs, and 3 games of 30+ runs. At least 2 home runs were hit in every game. It's a good thing we had all this offense because we've been giving up an alarming number of runs in some of our games. Our opponents were averaging over 15 runs per game against us, the most ever. Can you say 'we miss you Tim Ohm' ?

The Homers lived up to their namesake and topped the 100 home runs for the first time. Nine players set careers highs. Ron had a career year with 34 home runs, and averaged nearly 2 home runs a game by homering in 16 of the 18 games played. Steve in his first full season as a Homer cranked out 16 home runs. Tony also had 16 home runs, and his 3rd consecutive season of 15 home runs. Scott and Rich set personal marks with 10 and 9 home runs, respectively. Richard, despite missing some games to vacation and a broken finger, had 7 home runs. John Chang hit 4 home runs in only 3 games during Richard's absence. Joe hit 3 home runs, and we'll make him into another Don Calkins yet. Daniel was too busy working and hit 3. Annette and Chris Tran hit their first-ever home runs as a Homer.
